Chandragupta Maurya all set to wrap up on August 30

It was a finite series and the makers had to wrap up as per schedule

The fate of TV shows hang in balance almost all throughout their run on TV. While many shows got sacked recently, the new addition to the list is Chandragupta Maurya. The show started airing on 14th November last year and since then it has shown good numbers. But these historical dramas have limited story lines and hence, the makers are making the show bid goodbye on August 30.

Confirming the news with Bombay Times, producer Siddharth Kumar Tewary said that he is happy with the way the show shaped up. It was meant to be a finite series and since inception, it was scheduled to wrap up by August. The writing is always different when it comes to a limited series. He feels that it gives more opportunity to perform better as the story moves at a faster pace. He too didn’t want to extend it beyond what was originally planned.

Faisal Khan who currently essays the role of the Mauryan ruler Chandragupta is sad too with the show coming to an end. He told BT that the show is ending. It obviously feels bad, as you develop a bond with the team over a period of time. He mentioned that he still would have liked it to run a little longer, but it’s a finite series and can’t be dragged on unnecessarily.

He further added that he doesn’t know whether to be happy or sad. Since he is now a part of a dance reality show, it was becoming difficult to balance both. He is happy that he can now give all his attention to the dance reality show. He and his girlfriend Muskaan Kataria are a dancing their way to the audience’s heart in Nach Baliye 9.
