Colors is all set and rolling to be presenting one of its most ambitious projects (in terms of the content) in the form of Barrister Babu that is scheduled to go on-air on 11th February 2020 at 8:30 pm.

While the promos of the show have already created quite a lot of interest already, we got in an exclusive chat with actor Pallavi Mukherjee, who is all set to make her Hindi TV debut with the show too.

Opening up on the show first, Mukherjee said, “The show is set in 1920 in the Bengali era. One of the things that the show especially explores is how back then the females weren’t as equipped and comfortable with male touch and even talking to any man eye to eye as opposed to today. Back then, to be crossing a man’s shadow even was considered to be a huge deal. So, one thing that’s important about the show is staying true to the era back then and the premise is about two women and how marriage changes things entirely for them.”

On the character, she said, “My character’s name is Sampurna, who lives in a village with her parents and as the show is set in 1920, and the whole setting and storyline is of olden times, my character will be shown to be very excited about her marriage, and that’s all she dreams about. My character is very obedient, sweet and simple and she is used to the norms of those times. She loves her sister Bondita (played by Aura) a lot and she is everything to her and even after my on-screen marriage, I think about my sister all the time as to how she is and if she is okay.”

She added, “Playing the character was extremely difficult for me as I am certainly not like that in real life. So playing a character that is totally opposite to your personal self is very exciting for me as an actor. In fact, the opening shot of the show will be my marriage on-screen and that itself will be a rather big twist to look forward to.”

On the experience of working with the cast, she said, “It has been absolutely wonderful. The whole cast and crew has become like a family, where I feel my on-screen mother is like my mother, my on-screen father is like my father and other people too. We hang out together, eat food and even party later. So it has been amazing.”

We wish Pallavi all the best for the role!
