PromoReview: Star Plus’ ‘Rishton Ka Chakravyuh’ is a CONVOLUTED saga of a mother-daughter duo!

A rebellious young daughter against a righteous mother…

For the past few weeks, everyone has been talking about Star Plus’ upcoming offering, Rishton Ka Chakravyuh which stars Narayani Shastri, Sangeeta Ghosh and Mahima Makwana in lead roles.

And now, the buzz just got bigger as the promo of the show recently went on-air.

We analyse on what the show is about and what is its lasting impression –

What is it about?

At what seems like a lavish setting of a rich house, the whole family has sat for lunch, when a confidante asks her missus (Narayani Shastri) to have a look on the other side of the table at what a young lady, Anami (Mahima Makwana) is doing.

Unhappy with her way of sitting at the table and doing her pre-lunch rituals, the boss lady asks Anami to stop doing that as she is not in living in a ghaat belonging to a family that performs funerals in Banaras anymore. She also asks her to change her way of living, her lifestyle and clothing, where she disgusts Anami about the way her name sounds and that it needs to be changed.

In the most epic sarcastic replies, Anami suggests to being named ‘Tsunami’ which catches the attention of everyone around the table. She even goes on to tell that she is called with the same name in Banaras.

This loggerhead battle between a mother and a daughter is what comprises the tale of being in a ‘chakravyuh.’

What’s Good?

Even with a few glances at the setting of the show, we can easily witness the palatial backdrop which means we are in for a visual treat when the show goes on-air.

Mahima Makwana is literally seen like never before, where she seems raw, gritty, street-like and bold. As Anami, her eyes, her posture and her attitude does the talking and leaves a lasting impression.

Narayani Shastri, on the other hand, plays a righteous leader of a rich house, where she impresses underplaying her role against an explosive Anami. She seems strict, to-the-point and a no-nonsense woman which is absolutely opposite to Anami apparently.

What’s Not-So-Good?

Even though the performances, setting and the approach of the show seems as novel as anything, the idea of two opposite personalities going against each other is not novel in itself. The core idea seems one like we have seen before, but that is a glitch which can be cleared only after the show goes on-air.

The Verdict
A grandiose setting, stellar supporting cast and powerful leads make Rishton Ka Chakrayuh a show to be looked forward to. Also, we are yet to see Sangeeta Ghosh’s character shades on-screen thus raising our curiosity levels even more.
