The show completes a year and hopefully, has many to follow..

Exactly a year ago, we were introduced to a show which not many had thought would become the phenomenon it is today. A saga about an obedient, successful and charming man, who considers his mother to be the ultimate priority, eventually falling in love with a beautiful, independent, caring woman! What followed was a roller coaster of emotions, suprises and of course, heartbreaks.

Sony TV’s ‘Kuch Rang Pyar Ke Aise Bhi‘ completes a year today and the omen couldn’t have been better as it was launched on the 29th February 2016 last year and as it was a leap year, we may as well consider 1st March 2017 to be the actual completion of one year.

The actors and the show in general, has survived several controversies, speculations and even negativity. And, the fans could not have been concerned as the show is apparently under scrutiny and in talks to be pulled off-air. While the producers have indirectly hinted happy news, the fate is yet to be sealed.

Today, on the celebratory day of the completion of one successful year, we list down the 5 Reasons why ‘Kuch Rang Pyar Ke Aise Bhi’ should NOT be pulled off-air.

The Shades of the Characters

It is the characters of the show itself that makes it an absolute treat. From Dev (Shaheer Sheikh) to Sonakshi (Erica Fernandes), every character has varied shades to themselves. While many other daily soaps have a diverse range of characters, there is a reflection of monotony to them.

‘Kuch Rang..’ however is one of the few shows that manages to showcase a plethora of characters that makes them adorable. What makes it even better is that unlike the other shows, ‘Kuch Rang..’ has never had a quintessential negative character who wants to destroy the house and so on. With just a pinch of grey-shade to a character, the show has managed to surpass its counterparts.

The Content

Who would have thought that something so simple and straight such as a boy (with an overprotective mother) falling in love with a girl would become a storytelling experience! The show has crystallized the portrayal of emotions in a perfect manner. Several shows that display emotional tracks end up going overboard to a point where it gets melodramatic and unrealistic. However, with the amalgamation of emotions along with practical approach, ‘Kuch Rang..’ could not have been more realistic over the time.

The Ability to Adapt

This, for me, is the biggest factor that the show just doesn’t deserve to go off-air. There was a period where it became a run-off-the-mill soap with the infamous saas-bahu saga and preposterous occurrences like any other show. However, instead of continuing with the same track and enjoying the perks of monotony, the show decided to refurbish itself and went on to present a leap. The ability to adapt is something not many Indian TV shows possess and the fact that ‘Kuch Rang..’ did that was applaudable.

A Leap that made Sense

The much awaited leap was introduced in the show over a month and a half ago. Just like quintessentially, the sequels of certain films do not live up to the predecessor, the leaps in Indian TV shows have never really clicked with the audience. While the leap in Kuch Rang’ did have some glitches, it was a leap that made perfect sense otherwise. The execution, crafting, and presentation of characters post leap couldn’t have been better, with two little wonders gracing the show too.

The Story is just the Beginning

The introduction of a hatred chapter between Dev and Sonakshi in ‘Kuch Rang..’ was an indicator in itself as to how a new phase has just begun. The love and naughtiness was loved and adored by the millions of fans, but the hatred excerpt has already been accepted by the fans. What makes it interesting is the treatment of this chapter.
Crisp writing, stellar performances, modern approach and willingness to adapt are things that make ‘Kuch Rang Pyar Ke Aise Bhi’ an Indian Television marvel. So, we need to tell it out there that let the characters and situations be treated a little differently and keep focusing on the practical approach, thereby making ‘Kuch Rang Pyar Ke Aise Bhi’ a habit for the weekdays for several years to come.
