Knowing Kartik and Naira’s chemistry, we shot nine songs with them in Greece: Rajan Shahi

The producer reveals about how he manages to keep Yeh Rishta… refreshing for his audience even after 8 long years, both of his show’s lead couples and their chemistry and a lot more…

Rajan Shahi and Team Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai recently finished off a successful but tiring 10-day schedule in Greece and it goes without saying, that the entire team had a blast.

Speaking about why he chose Greece, Rajan says, “Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai is known for its outdoor locations, be it in India or even abroad. We wanted to treat the audience with a very good love story between Kartik and Naira on their honeymoon and hence, we needed a beautiful location, a place that would look splendid on screen. So Greece was chosen primarily for the fact that it is very very beautiful. Kartik and Naira are the adventurous type and Greece fits them perfectly in that criteria as well.”

This is not the first time that Yeh Rishta… has shot abroad. “Our show has had the good fortune to have shot in beautiful countries like South Africa, Thailand, Hong Kong and Switzerland before Greece. So we have travelled quite a few countries in the show, for the show,” says Rajan.

Opening up about both his lead couples and their chemistry one by one, Rajan Shahi says, “I think Kartik (Mohsin Khan) and Naira (Shivangi Joshi) are young, but they not only represent family, but also have a lot of spunk in themselves. Keeping in mind this chemistry, we shot nine songs with them in Greece.”

The producer is all praises for both Mohsin and Shivangi. Says Rajan, “I think that is largely because of the hard work they have done. Both of them have really worked hard on the show. But yes, everybody does hard work, it is only recognised when the fans appreciate it. I must say the fans have supported them a lot. Their chemistry is unmatchable on television today and it is the best chemistry I have seen. At the same time Naksh (Rishi Dev) and Kirti’s (Mohena Singh) chemistry is also great. So there are two love stories running parallelly in the show,” he says

Meanwhile, the show has been one of the longest running shows on television and Shahi says that this is because of the bond that the team shares. “I think the thing is that Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai represents many emotions and I think the team is able to capture every emotion beautifully, be it family values, marriages, rituals and a very young romance. I think the team expertise is that they have always captured everything and projected and presented it in the best possible manner. The production team will always be the USP of the show,” he says.
