“I will carry an attitude of a bindaas, tough and carefree girl.” – Rumman Ahmed

Zee TV’s next primetime offering ‘Sethji‘ brings to you an intriguing story of a unique Ram-rajya village, Devsu, that runs on its own set of rules and principles.

The very young and talented Rumman Ahmed will be seen playing the character of the feisty Pragati. Unlike other female leads on television, Pragati will be seen donning an unconventional look for the role.

Against the backdrop of this unique village, a beautiful, unlikely love story will develop between Sethji’s handsome son, Baji Rao, an innocent boy who has never seen anything beyond the borders of his village and Pragati, a fearless, modern girl and a firm advocate of technology from across the border.

Talking about her look, Rumman shared, “During the past few decades, technology has become an integral part of our society. When I heard the concept of Sethji, I immediately fell in love with the story and was intrigued that how in a century governed by technology, there exists a village which is completely untouched by it. I am excited to play the role of Pragati. She is a beautiful, independent, modern-day girl who is progressive in her thoughts and is a strong advocate of technology and digitalization.

Like any young person from the 21st century, she has not only embraced technology but belongs to a generation that has never lived or imagined a life without it. I will be seen sporting leather pants, bomber jackets, knee-length boots, red streaked hair and will carry an attitude of a bindaas, tough and carefree girl. She enters Devsu on her bike while looking for her dad whom she has never seen. I hope they like me in this avatar.”

It will be interesting to see what will transpire when Pragati comes to face with Sethji, who believes in the ways of the past, is a staunch traditionalist and detests change.

What will happen when the modern city girl Pragati meets the village boy Baaji Rao? Will Sethji accept their relationship and what changes will it bring to their lives?
